Open Talk, Mental Health Questionnaires
Welcome to Open Talk, we provide Mental Health Questionnaires for Pre-Teens, Teens and Adults. Our Questionnaires are developed by qualified and experienced professionals in psychology.
According to a new report, South Africa ranks as one of the worst countries regarding mental health. The report is the second Annual Mental State of the World Report from Sapien Labs. Suicide is an important public health concern globally, with one person dying by suicide every 40 seconds, and many more making attempts to kill themselves. In South Africa, 23 people kill themselves every day, and another 460 people make attempts to end their own lives, suicide is the second leading cause of death amongst adolescents and young people between the ages of 15 years and 29 years, accounting for one in 10 unnatural deaths in this age group.
Sound mental health is important for a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and through our questionnaires we may notice what may go unnoticed yet detrimental to your development and livelihood. Our objective is making people reach their potential and seek help for whichever mental health challenge. Mental health is pivotal from birth and should not be left unchecked.
Whom should partake in our Questionnaires?
Our questionnaires are tailored for all ages, all backgrounds, and anyone that can read; We use a range of facilities based on what is accessible for our participants, we have (i) an online platform, (ii) on paper-sheet and (iii) voice prompts. Participants can then answer our questionnaires and once completed we generate a report that will inform us on the current mental health wellness based on the questions answered. A copy can be forwarded to use in your next visit to your preferred mental health professional should a session be required for your case, if all is well better to have checked. We aim to make every single step as simple as possible because there is much else in this world that can be stressful and triggering.

Risk Factors
Risk factors like previous mental health diagnosis, medical conditions, substance abuse, financial problems, a sense of hopelessness, poor coping skills, poor problem-solving skills, previous aggressive behaviour, interpersonal relationship problems and absence of a sense of belonging are common for most people to experience, that is why periodic mental health checks are important to partake in as at times we aren't aware just how submerged we are.

Questionnaires
On our products
The questionnaires are made up of between 40 to 60 focused questions that range from behavioural pattern recognition, emotional I.Q, substance abuse, mental state, sexual abuse, workplace environment, bullying, communication and other factors that contribute mental wellness. Yes, it's important to remember that a person's mental health can change over time, depending on many factors. When the demands placed on a person exceed their resources and coping abilities, their mental health could be impacted. For example, if someone has experienced abuse, working long hours, caring for a relative, or experiencing economic hardship, they may experience poor mental health.
